Księży Młyn jest perłą<br />
założeń fabryczno-rezydencjonalnych<br />
nie tylko<br />
w Polsce, ale i w Europie.<br />
To topograficznie świetnie zachowana<br />
tkanka miejskiej Łodzi, zawdzięczająca<br />
swoje istnienie K. Scheilblerowi,<br />
przybyłemu z Niemiec, najbogatszemu<br />
w Królestwie Polskim fabrykantowi.<br />
W skład kompleksu wchodzą: przędzalnia<br />
wyrobów bawełnianych (dziś, po rewitalizacji,<br />
znajdują się tam lofty), przy<br />
parku Źródliska osiedle dla robotników<br />
z budynkiem straży pożarnej, a za domami<br />
robotników pałac fabrykanta<br />
przy Wodnym Rynku (dziś plac Zwycięstwa),<br />
obecnie Muzeum Kinematografii.<br />
Ponadto: szkoła, sklepy, szpital<br />
i bocznica kolejowa.<br />
#KsiężyMłyn<br />
Ksiezy Mlyn is the gem of factory<br />
– residential architecture of the 19th<br />
century not only in Poland, but also<br />
in Europe. This original and well preserved<br />
topography was originated by<br />
K. Scheibler, the richest factory owner<br />
and industrialist of German origin in<br />
the Kingdom of Poland. The complex<br />
includes: Cotton Mill (that has been<br />
revitalised and converted to lofts), bordering<br />
Zrodliska Park working class<br />
tennaments with a Fire Brigade Building.<br />
Behind the worker’s accommodation<br />
the Palace of Schibler’s was erected<br />
at Plac Zwyciestwa, former Wodny<br />
Rynek, which seats Museum of Cinematography.<br />
There are also a school,<br />
shops, hospital and a railway siding.<br />
Na terenie Księżego Młyna<br />
znajdują się dwa kolejne<br />
ciekawe muzea:<br />
Kinematografii i Książki<br />
Artystycznej.<br />
Pierwsze, jedyne tego typu w Polsce,<br />
posiada znakomite kolekcje dotyczące<br />
historii kina, techniki filmowej,<br />
plakatu, scenografii i animacji. Drugie<br />
natomiast gromadzi współczesne<br />
książki artystyczne, zwłaszcza polskich<br />
artystów, żyjących w kraju i za granicą.<br />
Ksiezy Mlyn also houses two fascinating<br />
museums: Museum of Cinematography<br />
and the Book Art Museum.<br />
The former is the only in Poland presenting<br />
the history of Polish cinema,<br />
film making, poster, scenography and<br />
animation. The latter is the gallery<br />
gathering modern art books by contemporary<br />
especially Polish and foreign<br />
artists, prioritizing Polish artists<br />
living in Poland and abroad.<br />
