selves in lo three subcommittees for <strong>the</strong> more convenient discharge<br />

<strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir duties, each <strong>of</strong> said committees shall have all powers here<br />

inafter conferred upon <strong>the</strong> board; and whenever in this act <strong>the</strong> words<br />

'•Examining Board" are used, <strong>the</strong>y shall be taken to include any <strong>of</strong><br />

<strong>the</strong> committees <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong>.<br />

Every member <strong>of</strong> said board shall, within ten days <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir ap<br />

pointment or being apprised <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> same, take and subscribe an oath<br />

or affirmation before a properly qualified <strong>of</strong>ficer <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> county in<br />

which <strong>the</strong>y reside, that <strong>the</strong>y will faithfully and impartially discharge<br />

<strong>the</strong> duties <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir <strong>of</strong>fice.<br />

Any vacancies occurring in said board shall be filled in <strong>the</strong> mannejhereinbefore<br />

provided from among such only as are eligible for<br />

original appointment.<br />

Section 3. Each <strong>of</strong> said examining boards shall designate some<br />

convenient place within <strong>the</strong>ir districts for <strong>the</strong> meeting <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> several<br />

committees <strong>the</strong>re<strong>of</strong>, and <strong>of</strong> which due notice shall be given by advertisement<br />

in two or more newspapers <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> proper county, and so<br />

divided as to reach as nearly as practicable all <strong>the</strong> mining districts<br />

<strong>the</strong>rein; but in no case shall such meeting be held in a building where<br />

any intoxicating liquors are sold.<br />

Each <strong>of</strong> said committee shall open at <strong>the</strong> designated place <strong>of</strong><br />

meeting a book <strong>of</strong> registration, in which shall be registered <strong>the</strong><br />

name and address <strong>of</strong> each and every person duly qualified under this<br />

act to be employed as a miner in an anthracile coal mine. And it<br />

shall be <strong>the</strong> duty <strong>of</strong> all<br />

persons employed as miners to be properly<br />

registered, and in case <strong>of</strong> a removal from <strong>the</strong> district in which a<br />

miner is registered, it shall be his duty to be registered in <strong>the</strong> district<br />

to which he removes.<br />

Application for registration only may be sent by mail to <strong>the</strong> board,<br />

after being properly attested before any person authorized to administer<br />

an oath or affirmation in <strong>the</strong> county in which <strong>the</strong> applicant<br />

resides. The form <strong>of</strong> application shall be subject to such reguhition<br />

as may be prescribed by <strong>the</strong> boards, but in no case shall any<br />

applicant be put to any unnecessary expense in order to secure registration.<br />

Section 4.<br />

Each applicant for examinaHon and registration and<br />

for <strong>the</strong> certificate hereinafter provided, shall pay a fee <strong>of</strong> one dollar<br />

to <strong>the</strong> said board, and a fee <strong>of</strong> twenty-five cents shall be charged<br />

for registering any person who shall have been examined and registered<br />

by any o<strong>the</strong>r board, and <strong>the</strong> amount derived fiom this source<br />

shall be lield by said boards and ai)i)lied<br />

herein provided and such as may arise under <strong>the</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong> thi.*.<br />

act; and <strong>the</strong> said boards shall report annually, to <strong>the</strong> court <strong>of</strong> common<br />

pleas <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>ir respective counlies and <strong>the</strong> linreau <strong>of</strong> <strong>Mines</strong> and<br />

Mining all moneys received and disbursed under <strong>the</strong> provisions <strong>of</strong>
