At <strong>the</strong> Enirka niiiic, on May 0, August (leiring, a German, was<br />

fatally injured by a fall <strong>of</strong> coal and died <strong>the</strong> same evening.<br />

Joseph .\uditanio, an Italian miner, was instantly killed on <strong>the</strong><br />

evening <strong>of</strong> May 14, at Wick JIaveu mine, by a fall <strong>of</strong> slate.<br />

Mervin Thompson, a trapper and flag boy, was instantly killed on<br />

May 17, at Moreland slope, by being caught between two loaded trips.<br />

At <strong>the</strong> Tort Royal mine, John Subina, a Russian Pole, was fatally<br />

injured by <strong>the</strong> cage on May 20; he lived six hours. He tried to get<br />

on <strong>the</strong> cage without <strong>the</strong> knowledge <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> eager,<br />

John Mattus. a German, was instantly killed at <strong>the</strong> Port Royal<br />

mine on June 4, by a piece <strong>of</strong> slate falling upon him.<br />

Ricardo Roko, an Italian, was fatally injured in <strong>the</strong> Darr mine, on<br />

June 8, while crossing over <strong>the</strong> loaded trip while <strong>the</strong> latter was in<br />

motion.<br />

Lewis Hucsak, a I*olish miner, was instantly killed in <strong>the</strong> Darr<br />

mine on October II, by a fall <strong>of</strong> slate.<br />

John Petrik, a Slavish miner, was instantly killed in <strong>the</strong> Darr mine<br />

on October 22, by a fall <strong>of</strong> ro<strong>of</strong> coal and slate.<br />

Frederick Blum, a German miner, was instantly killed on October<br />

28 at <strong>the</strong> Summit and Eagle mine, by a fall <strong>of</strong> coal and slate.<br />

Michael Hazel, a Hungarian, was instantly killed in <strong>the</strong> Wick<br />

Haven mine on November 9, by a fall <strong>of</strong> slate.
