Klni\\'ood Colliery will soon be prepared at <strong>the</strong> Tunnel Ridge new<br />

bleaker which is capable <strong>of</strong> preparing 1,400 tons daily.<br />

A tunnel has been driven across <strong>the</strong> basin 333 feet long from <strong>the</strong><br />

South dip <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> top split <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> IMammoth vein or p]lmwood side <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

basin, to <strong>the</strong> north dip <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> top split <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Mammoth vein or tunnel<br />

for <strong>the</strong> i^resent at each side <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> basin. The roadbeds and<br />

drainage gutters are well constructed, and <strong>the</strong> timbering <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> gangways<br />

cannot be improved upon. Four fans are in operation, which<br />

keep <strong>the</strong> mine workings well ventilated.<br />
