PLASTIC FLOAT SWITCHESVERTICAL-MOUNTING REED-TYPE FLOAT SWITCHESFEATURES• Magnets in the float actuate a magneticswitch in the stem. So simple is the methodof converting mechanical motion into anelectrical signal that reliable service canbe expected for years. The switch can bethread-mounted from the top or bottom ofthe tank. The length can be extended bystandard pipe and fittings. The FDA-ratedmaterials are corrosion-resistant and impartno taste to food or beverages.HEAVY-DUTY SWITCH• Molded of Polypropylene, the switches are well-suited tocontrolling levels or water-based solutions at temperaturesof up to 105°C. The rugged 3-Amp switch can be directlyconnected to solenoid valves and motor switches. Theswitches may be configured from wet open to dry open or viceversaby simply removing the retaining ring and reversing thefloat. WET OPEN – The switch opens as the float approachesthe hex (threads); the contact closes as the float approachesthe stop ring. DRY OPEN – The switch opens as the floatapproaches the stop ring; the contact closes as the floatapproaches the hex (threads).MINIATURE SWITCHES• Molded of FDA-rated Kynar PVDF (natural, unpigmented),or Polypropylene for reliable operation without maintenance,the switch functions include control of make-up water in foodsteamers, chemistry in automatic film processing, coolantin molding machines, and hundreds of other equipmentapplications. The switch can be mounted up or down, and can bechanged from “normally open” to “normally closed” by removingthe retaining ring and reversing the float. (It’s shipped with thefloat in the normally closed position). The smooth surfaces areeasy to keep clean, and the unit will switch small solenoid valvesand relays up to 0.25A (120 VAC). For higher electrical loads,use a 6932 controller, found on page 414.
