The fuse, placed inside a thermowell, positioned in contact with the heater sheath, will cut power to the heater in the event of low liquid level.Immersion heaterwith replaceable fusethermal protectorworking normally.Process bath leveldrops due to tankleak or evaporation.Fuse sensor detectselevating temperatureand shuts off power toheater.Replace fuse.Restore the liquid leveland resume operation.RESETTABLE THERMAL PROTECTORProvides the same reliable over temperature protection as the fuse protectors shown above; however, the control systems featurea heat sensing thermostat. Should the tank’s liquid level drop to a preset overheat point, the thermostat will trip and an audiblealarm will sound, cutting power to the heater. This eliminates dangerous operating conditions. After filling the tank, the immersionheater can be quickly made operational by pushing the reset button on the control to restore power. Designed for flexible lead orhigh temperature fluoropolymer (PTFE) heater applications only. DO NOT wire heaters directly to power or heater load as a dangerousshort circuit will result with irreparable damage to the heater. Please refer to wiring diagrams provided for proper installation.Immersion heater withreset working normally.Process bath level dropsdue to tank leak orevaporation.Thermostat fuse detectselevated temperatureand shuts off power tothe heater.HEATER THERMAL PROTECTION CHARTProtectorTypeReplaceableTankTemp.°F (°C)to 180°F (82°C)180 - 230°F(82 - 110°C)230 - 300°F(110 - 150°C)MetalOver-the-Side &FlangedPIWhite, 3936PIMBlue, 2924PIHRed, 3714MetalLShapedPLIWhite, 3710PLIMBlue, 3712PLIHRed, 3713MetalFlexRiserColor designations indicate lead wire color.
