"Floating Boat Shelter" means a Structure, intended for the protection <strong>of</strong> a boat, built on afloatation system."Front Lot Line" means the Lot Line common to the Parcel and an abutting Street. Where aParcel has Lot Lines abutting two or more Streets, the Lot Line with the shorter distanceabutting a Street is the Front Lot Line."Front Building Line" means a line most parallel to the Highway, on which a Parcel has itsFrontage, at the innermost part <strong>of</strong> the required Front Yard Setback."Frontage" means that length <strong>of</strong> a Parcel boundary which immediately joins a Highwayother than a lane or walkway. On a Parcel where more than one <strong>of</strong> the Parcel boundariesadjoins a Highway, the shortest Parcel boundary shall be considered its Frontage.“Gaming Activity” means any game played on any mechanical or electronic device ormachine for money, or anything <strong>of</strong> value, but excludes the purchase and sale <strong>of</strong> lotterytickets and electronic bingo in licensed bingo facilities."Garage, Private" means an Accessory Building or a portion <strong>of</strong> a Principal Building usedprimarily for the parking or temporary storage <strong>of</strong> motor vehicles owned by residents <strong>of</strong> theParcel."Gas Bar" means any Building or Structure used or intended to be used for the retail sale <strong>of</strong>motor fuels and lubricants and excludes vehicle servicing."Grade" means the average natural levels <strong>of</strong> the ground adjoining each exterior wall <strong>of</strong> aBuilding, provided that localized depressions such as vehicle or pedestrian entrances neednot be considered in the determination <strong>of</strong> average levels <strong>of</strong> natural ground."Group Children's Day Care Centre" means a facility providing for the care <strong>of</strong> children andlicensed under the "Community Care Facility Act"."Height" means the vertical distance <strong>of</strong> a Structure measured from Grade to the highestpoint <strong>of</strong> the Structure if the Structure has no ro<strong>of</strong> or a flat ro<strong>of</strong>; to the deck line <strong>of</strong> a mansardro<strong>of</strong>; to the mean level between the eaves and ridge <strong>of</strong> a gable, hip, gambrel, or othersloping ro<strong>of</strong>. The measurement <strong>of</strong> Height shall exclude the projection <strong>of</strong> chimneys, vents,stacks, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment, stairwells, and elevator liftingdevices that protrude above the surrounding ro<strong>of</strong> line."High Water Mark" means the Lot Line established by a British Columbia Land Surveyor ona legal survey plan between land and any body <strong>of</strong> water."Highway" includes a street, road, lane, bridge, viaduct, and any other way open to the use<strong>of</strong> the public, but does not include a private right <strong>of</strong> way on private property."Home Occupation" means any occupation or pr<strong>of</strong>ession carried on by a resident <strong>of</strong> aParcel on that Parcel, the nature <strong>of</strong> which is clearly incidental to the Use <strong>of</strong> the Dwelling Unitfor residential purposes.PART 1 - 5
