16 TESTS AND INSPECTIONS16.1 GENERALThe Contractor shall perform all tests and inspections necessary to ensure thatthe material and workmanship conform to the Contract and design drawings.Those tests and inspections shall demonstrate that the equipment will complywith the requirements of this Specification and meet the specified guarantees.The Board and the Engineer shall have a right to access the Contractor or sub-Contractor's works to determine or assess compliance with the provisions of thisSpecification or to witness the Contractor's inspections or tests.The contractor shall supply to the Board as soon as practicable which shall containdetails of each test performed and shall be prepared as required by the Board,records, results and calculation of all electrical tests shall be provided.16.2 WORKSHOP TEST(1) All plant shall be subjected to type, sample and routine tests at themanufacturer's factory in accordance with these clauses and conditions of theContract.(2) Type, sample and routine tests shall be to the relevant ISO and IECStandards or other approved international standards for equipment where the testrequirements are not specified in these clauses.(3) The Contractor may offer type test results for identical equipment in lieu ofthe type tests specified, in which case the Board may waive the specified typetests. If type test results for identical equipment are offered in lieu of the specifiedtype tests, the Contractor shall also provide evidence as to the similarity of theequipment tested and the Contract equipment.(4) The Contractor shall submit evidence to the Board & Engineer that the instrumentsused for the testing shall have been calibrated at an approved testinglaboratory within a period of up to six months for a portable instrument andtwelve months for a fixed instrument.16.2.1 Gas TurbineThe gas turbine unit shall be assembled as a complete unit and run undersimulated operating conditions at the manufacturer's works. The unit shall betested to ensure smooth running and satisfactory operation of the accessories.Necessary tests shall also be performed for GBC & EDG as per relevant standard.The Contractor shall state in his proposal the performance and reliability tests tobe carried out in the works. The Contractor shall give the Board & Engineer noticeof the tests at least six(6) weeks in advance. The tests to be carried out shallinclude, but not be limited to, the following:-Ghorasal 200 MW to 300 MW Gas Turbine Peaking Power Plant Project (Vol-2 of 3)140
