he Contractor shall repair at his own expense the imperfections of concretesurfaces and the irregularities which do not meet the allowance specified in thepreceding item. Repairing works shall be performed and completed within 24hours after the removal of forms, in accordance with the direction of the Board.17.6.16 REINFORCEMENT BARThe reinforcement bars for the gas turbine generating units foundation blocksshall be deformed steel bars. Dimension, shapes, tensile strength, yield point andother mechanical properties of the reinforcement bars shall comply with relevantapproved standards. All reinforcement must be free from oil, grease, paint, dirt,loose scale or rust at the time of concreting.The physical properties of the reinforcement bar shall have the following valuesYield point : more than 2400 kg/cm 2Ultimate tensile strength : more than 4000 kg/cm 2Reinforcement bars shall be stacked of f the ground on sufficient sup-ports toprevent distortion of the bars. Prior to fabricating and placing the reinforcement,the Contractor shall prepare a bar bending schedule, and drawings for submissionto the Board for approval. Reinforcement shall generally be bent cold by anapproved means to the dimensions shown on the approved bar bending scheduleand shall be rigidly fixed in the positions shown on the approved reinforcementdrawings using annealed soft black iron binding wire to prevent movement duringconcreting. The Board shall have the right to select at any time samples ofreinforcement bar for testing for compliance with the Specifications. The spacerblocks, prior to using, shall be submitted to the Board for approval.17.6.17 PAYMENTAll costs associated with concrete work and reinforcing bar for equipmentfoundations, duets, roads, buildings, drainage system and all other structuresshall be deemed to include in the lump sum price bid for the respective work itemin the Schedule. The lump sum price bid shall not be modified or subject to anyadjustment for design variations due to changes of geological and otherconditions.17.7 ROADS AND SURFACINGSThe Contractor shall furnish all designs and construct the roads, yards, paths,surfacing as necessary for the proper functioning of the power station.The roads and yards as indicated in the Drawings or directed by the Board shallbe generally designed with raised kerb, in compliance with the approved Standardand to satisfy the following basic design requirementMaximum grade : 7%Pavement width: as directed by Board.Turning radius: more than 10 mm.Ghorasal 200 MW to 300 MW Gas Turbine Peaking Power Plant Project (Vol-2 of 3)174
