3.3.2 Gas Turbine And AuxiliariesThe gas turbine generating unit shall be of the simple cycle heavy-duty industrialpackaged type suitable for outdoor installation and operation under the siteconditions as specified in Clause B1 of schedule-B.Vibration Critical SpeedThe radial amplitude of vibration of any rotating shaft under steady stateconditions at normal operating speed shall not exceed the value specified in APIStandard 616 when measured at the shaft local to the bearing. The critical speedshall be beyond ± 20 % of the operating speed of the engine.All compartments in the gas turbine generating unit shall be accessible forinspection and maintenance.The gas turbine unit shall be designed to burn Liquid fuel as well as natural gas asspecified.The unit shall be capable of frequent starts and stops without damage to the hotgas path components and shall be able to run for base load.3.3.2.1 Starting SystemThe gas turbine shall have electric motor driven starting equipment capable ofsustaining the complete starting cycle. The starting motor shall be capable ofcarrying out at least Five (5) consecutive starting without any harmful effect.3.3.2.2 Turning GearA rotor turning gear shall be provided to minimise thermal distortion of the rotorafter operation and to permit rapid reloading of the unit after a shutdown.Necessary oil piping and appurtenances shall be included. Turning gear oil pipingsystem shall be a part of the turbine lubrication system and shall be completewith all necessary pressure switches or other interlocks to prevent turning gearoperation if lubricating oil pressure drops below than pre-set value. Suitablehousing and safety guard shall be provided for all moving parts of the turninggear. Turning gear operation shall be indicated on the remote control panels. Theturning gear shall have automatic engaging and disengaging mechanisms.Additional arrangement for hand turning shall be provided for use in case theautomatic turning system fails to operate.3.3.2.3 Load Gear and Accessories Drive GearThe turbine shall be equipped with good quality and suitable load gear equipmentof proper rating if required to match the generator speed for 50 Hz generation.Load gear shall be totally enclosed and be equipped with forced lubricating deviceto the gear.The turbine shall also be equipped with suitable accessories driven gear unit.Ghorasal 200 MW to 300 MW Gas Turbine Peaking Power Plant Project (Vol-2 of 3)22
3.3.2.4 Compressor Wet Washing System1. System DescriptionsThe compressor wet washing system (On & Off line) shall basically comprise ofwash water tank with accessories, detergent hopper, interconnecting piping &valves, spray water manifold and spray nozzles. The various components of thesystem are shown in schematic diagram enclosed. Wash water tank shall be usedto draw and mix wash water and detergent to the required dilution, compressedair taken from existing instrument air header shall be used to pressurise this fluidand to forward to the spray water manifold. The spray nozzles shall make a highvelocity jet spray to clean the compressor blades while the rotor shall be kept inspinning operation.i) Wash water tank shall be a cylindrical pressure vessel with dished ends onboth sides. This tank shall be provided with necessary appurtenances andaccessories such asa) Compressed air inlet.b) Water inlet with isolation valve and inlet strainer.c) Breather vent with isolation valve.d) Drain line with isolation valve.e) Detergent inlet nozzle with isolation valve.f) Pressurised water outlet with isolation valve.g) Level gauge glass with isolation valves.h) Hand holes with covers.i) Pressure relief valves.j) Pressure gauge connection.ii)iii)iv)Detergent hopper to hold the detergent for every wash cycle.Interconnecting piping between wash water tank and compressor spraysystem. This line shall be provided with strainer, drain valve, pressuregauge, and orifice plate.Water wash manifolds.This manifold shall be located within the compressor inlet and it shalldistribute the wash water into the compressor inlet air stream. Themanifold shall be equipped with a drain valve.v) Set of spray nozzles shall effectively spray water I detergent water forefficient cleaning.To introduce the above-mentioned wet washing system for compressorcleaning of gas turbine generating unit.
