Traces, user-defined traces, and trace ranges are added as 16-bit integers. Negative numbers are represented in two’s complement format. Single variables and numbers are treated as floating point numbers and must be within the real number range as defined in Table 5-1. The sources and destination may be different lengths. The length of predefined traces (trace A, trace B, or trace C) is 401. User-defined traces have a length of up to 2047, and variables have a length of 1. When sources differ in length, the last element of the shorter source is repeated for the addition process. After the addition, the last element is repeated if the destination is longer than the sum trace. When the sources are longer than the destination, they are truncated to fit. 5-56 Programming Commands
