figure flew into the air, shooting up to the eaves as if
flying! There was a bang and the air was suddenly
filled with a spooky white dust. There was another
bang as the ghost flew dramatically back to the
ground landing at Cressida's feet. Cressie was really
scared!
‘Sophie!’ she yelled, ‘What's happening?’
Sophie turned on the house lights.
‘Yes! Brilliant! Bullseye!’
Sophie was leaping around in delight - until she
saw how much she had scared Cressida. ‘Sorry Cress!
I didn't mean to scare you, but I just wanted to test
my anti-ghost plan out on someone and you were the
tip top best person!’
‘Thanks a lot Sophie!’ said Cressida. Looking at
the figure on the floor she realised it was only King
Arthur with a white sheet tied around him like a
cloak. ‘But where did the dust come from?’
‘I put a small bag of flour on the beam up there,’
said Sophie pointing upwards, ‘and when I pulled the
rope to make King Arthur fly into the air he went
right up to the beam, knocked the bag over and sent
flour everywhere. Hopefully it'll go all over whoever
is trying to frighten us. I'll put much more flour up
there when it's the real thing!’
Cressida was smiling now.
