Stage Fright!

There above, in the lighting gallery, were the two
shadowy ghosts they had seen the night before!
Susie started screaming and wouldn't stop.
‘Who are you?’ shouted Sophie.
There was no answer.
The ghosts stood still, beckoning.
To the other children's amazement Sophie leapt to
her feet and dashed over to the rickety staircase and
started to climb up towards the ghosts! The ghosts,
seeing her approach, turned as if to fly away. Sophie,
trembling and dreading what she might see, peeped
up through the hole in the first floor.
She saw ... nothing! The ghosts had vanished.
All was silent save a creaking sound coming from
the far end of the barn.
The Forbidden Door, which she had never seen
open before, was now unlatched and swinging on its
rusty hinges, blowing back and forth in the wind!
Despite her fear and hammering heart Sophie
crept forwards towards the door ...
She remembered her promise to her father never,
never to open The Forbidden Door. She remembered
the treacherous drop to the ground below. But why
was the door open now? She crept closer and closer
and very, very cautiously peered out ...
... and she saw ...
