were laid out in rows with decorated<br />

numbers ready for the audience.<br />

There were the props bursting out<br />

of the props cupboard. There was<br />

a lucky dip barrel in one corner<br />

filled with lucky dip prizes. There<br />

was the raffle table with a sign<br />

saying ‘Raffle Prizes’. There was<br />

the refreshments table and a beautifully decorated<br />

poster created by Lou.<br />

There was their royal patron King Arthur smiling<br />

at them looking brave and happy with a festive bunch<br />

of holly dangling from his crown.<br />

‘It's more fun than frightening,’ said Susie bravely.<br />

‘Yes,’ nodded Beaky, tapping her nose. ‘There is<br />

nothing to be frightened of now.’<br />

‘I think we must have imagined those ghosts last<br />

night,’ added Lou, trying to convince herself.<br />

‘Now we're drinking hot chocolate I think it's the<br />

best place in the world!’ said John.<br />

The children sat around laughing and joking until<br />

they were all in very good spirits.<br />

Suddenly Lou screeched ...<br />

...‘Look!’<br />
