Bagwash's Final ‘Berwooomph!’
When the DDC made their final bow the audience
clapped, cheered and the children at the front leapt
up and down shouting for more so the DDC obliged
and come back on stage three times for a another bow
and another bow and another bow before
disappearing finally backstage. Elsa and Rosalie
rushed to congratulate them.
‘Brilliant!’ said Elsa.
‘Fantastic!’ said Rosalie.
‘Here's all the money you’ve made and here’s a list
of what’s what,’ added Elsa handing Sophie the tin
money box and a piece of paper with jottings and
adding ups and a large total at the end.
‘Leaping liquorice!’ said Hen.
‘Leaping liquorice times two!’ said Harry.
‘Tip top!’ said Sophie. ‘Now we can easily pay
Uncle Max for the lights and dad for the stage and
still have some left over towards our next production.
That’s if ...’
Sophie’s voice faded away. In the excitement of the
play she had forgotten that Cressida was leaving
Wissop tomorrow! Sophie could never run the DDC
on her own.
Just then Farmer Bagwash barged backstage.
