Stage Fright!

an enormous ‘berwooomph!’ Farmer Bagwash made
a dive for his dog, but Lollipop thinking it all a jolly
game leapt out of the way just in time.
Farmer Bagwash crashed to the ground, knocking
Mrs Whistle-White's chair as he went, unbalancing
her so that with a final, ear-piercing ‘Waaaaaaaah!’
she was tossed into the air and landed in a flurry of
white fur, bang crash on top of the spread-eagled
Farmer Bagwash!
Meanwhile Lollipop made her escape.
The audience tried to catch her but it was no good.
She was thoroughly enjoying herself leaping over
chairs, squeezing through legs and wriggling out of
hands trying to grab her. Amidst all the hub bub she
heard a low whistle.
‘Here Lollipop. Come here Lolly.’
Backstage Cressida grinned. That was her dad,
Tim Stack. No mistake. Lollipop, hearing Tim's quiet,
calm voice forgot all about the big, furry
Whistle-White monster and the game of chase, and
bounded over to Tim. The dog gave Tim an
affectionate lick then flopped herself at his feet,
enjoying being patted and stroked.
The rest of the audience picked up fallen chairs,
Mrs Theodora Whistle-White disentangled herself
from Farmer Bagwash, everyone sat down and John,
