‘Only twenty pounds,’ finished off Hen who was<br />
wizard at maths.<br />
‘We could thell some raffle tickets ath well,’<br />
suggested Susie, shyly.<br />
‘And programmes,’ added Harry.<br />
Suddenly Sophie felt that raising the money was<br />
going to be more of a challenge than a problem!<br />
‘What wath the thecond important<br />
announthement?’ asked Susie, a little louder than<br />
usual. She was actually starting to enjoy being a<br />
member of the DDC!<br />
‘The second announcement is THE SCRIPT!’<br />
said Cressida excitedly, forgetting all about leaving<br />
Wissop and moving to Ditch.<br />
Beaky had been busy. Beaky’s grandpa, whose<br />
name was Albert and who also had a very sharp,<br />
pointed nose and was very deaf, lived in Wissop in<br />
one of those terraced cottages that is crammed so full<br />
of books that when you open the front door you have<br />
to squeeze down a tunnel of bookshelves just to get<br />
to the kitchen at the back. When Beaky went round<br />
to his house and told him about the DDC and that<br />
