‘Although, I do have a bit of a bad leg. Look I fell
over yethterday and got a brewth on my knee. It’th
very thore but that would help wouldn’t it?’

By the end of the meeting, after much to-ing and
fro-ing, all was agreed. Cressida produced the final,
final cast list. Everyone was happy although Susie was
still anxious.
‘I know I will be able to hobble like Tiny Tim ath
I do have a bad leg tho I can pwactith but do I have
to thay vewee much?’ she asked nervously.
Sophie remembered how she had upset Susie on
her first day and was determined not to do so again.
‘Not if you don't want to,’ she said kindly. ‘When
you've read the script Beaky can change it if you are
still worried.’
‘Could I be the prompt as well?’ asked Beaky.
‘Yes!’ said everyone apart from Susie.
‘What doth the prompt do?’
‘The prompt keeps a copy of the script backstage.
If anyone forgets their lines during the play the
prompt just reads a few words out to help them get
going again,’ explained Cressida.
‘I bet that will be me!’ wailed Susie. ‘I’ll be thow,
thow nervouth!’
‘No you won’t,’ said Cressida, ‘because we will
