Stage Fright!

never coming back was knowing Beaky was backstage
sitting with the prompt's light and a script ready to
prompt her if she did forget. Thank goodness for
Beaky! She took a deep breath and in her Ghost of
Christmas Present voice bellowed,
I see I have a challenge tonight!
So let's get going
and spread the joyful light
And praise the Lord
for his almighty generosity!
Look around!
Harry waved her torch pointing around the stage.
There's ... there's ...
Her voice faded. Her mouth felt dry and despite it
opening and closing no words came out.
Her worst nightmare had come true!
Harry’s mind had gone blank!

What an earth came next?
‘Come on Beaky, prompt me!’ she prayed.
But poor Beaky, normally so organised and in
control, was having a crisis. The prompt light had
suddenly flashed on and off, then the bulb exploded
and gone out!
