Stage Fright!

A Terrible Fright
On Wednesday night after school the girls decided to
get together for an extra rehearsal. It was a cold, dark,
rainy night and the wind rattled the slates on The
Barn Theatre roof. Inside Lou tipped out a bag full
of her old toys she had sorted out for the lucky dip.
‘Wow!’ said Hen.
‘Brill!’ said Harry.
‘I've got some pwizes for the raffle,’ said Susie shyly.
‘Mamma gave thith bag to me jutht ath I was leaving.
I don't know whath in it. Thall we have a look?’
‘Yes please!’ said Sophie.
Susie tipped the bag upside down. Out fell:
... a gold, shimmering, sequined evening bag ...
... a satin make-up bag embroidered with the
words ‘My Couchy-Couchy-Sweetheart’ ...
... a purple, fluffy hat made of ostrich feathers ...
... a furry, orange shawl with yellow tassels ...
... a pair of pink stiletto shoes with little yellow
butterflies sewn on the points.
