the play or not but the DDC will think it's ghosts and<br />

run out crying. They'll make real fools of themselves<br />

and it'll ruin their show.’<br />

‘But it'll be worth it for the laugh!’ added the<br />

second figure.<br />

‘Sssssh! What's that?’<br />

‘Someone's coming up the ladder!’<br />

The two figures froze in horror. Sophie and<br />

Cressida could not believe their eyes when they saw<br />

another figure coming through The Forbidden Door.<br />

Could this be a real ghost?<br />

A huge, monstrous outline filled the whole<br />

opening. It was grunting like a wild beast! As it<br />

stepped through the door Sophie in her fright decided<br />

this was the moment for action.<br />

‘Now!’ she hissed to Cressie.<br />

Trembling Cressida turned on the dim green light.<br />

In the same instant Sophie pulled as hard as she could<br />

on the rope. The King Arthur ‘ghost’ leapt from his<br />

seat and flew dramatically across the room, and went<br />

sweeping up - ‘BANG!’, ‘CRASH!’ - hitting the<br />

beam.<br />

A great cloud of white flour dust shot into the air<br />

as the white apparition completed it's flight by diving<br />

to the ground knocking over the two smaller figures,<br />
