‘Oh I am as light as a feather, I am as happy as an<br />
angel’ he yelled. ‘That’s a quote you know! Straight<br />
from Dickens!’<br />
Albert loved Dickens. Oliver Twist had been his very<br />
favourite story when he had been a boy and he had<br />
all the books Charles Dickens had ever written.<br />
‘I have a copy somewhere ... somewhere...’ he said<br />
at top volume, excitedly.<br />
They searched through piles of books but could<br />
not find A Christmas Carol. Suddenly Albert held up a<br />
dusty copy and shouted ‘Dickens! Oliver Twist!’<br />
‘Grandpa! It’s A Christmas Carol we are looking for<br />
not Oliver Twist.’<br />
‘Ah, but one Dickens novel means we are getting<br />
close,’ said Albert tapping his nose.<br />
The next discovery was David Copperfield, then<br />
Nicholas Nickleby then Bleak House, then Hard Times ...<br />
and just as Beaky thought they would have to give up<br />
- A Christmas Carol!<br />
‘Oh I’m as merry as a schoolboy! Whoop!’ yelled<br />
Albert, triumphantly. ‘That’s another quote you<br />
know! Straight from Dickens!’<br />
