Stage Fright!

‘Now you stay there Pickle and be good. Pickle
don’t look at me in that cheeky way and don’t untie
yourself from the gate.’
There was the sound of patting and a neigh and
Abby burst into the barn.
‘Sorry I’m late everyone! I was just grooming
Pickle when he somehow untied himself and trotted
off. Every time I got close to catching him he trotted
off a bit further. Anyone would think he was playing
a game!’
Abby sat down hot and flustered.
‘Oh my goodness! What have you done to the
barn. It looks flippin’ fantastic!’
Everyone was astonished by all the work that had
been done. Not only did they have a building but
chairs and lamps! It looked so different from the week
before that even the least imaginative member of the
DDC could start to believe it could be a theatre.
‘You must have worked very hard,’ said Beaky.
‘Mum and dad helped quite a lot,’ said Sophie.
‘A lot of a lot!’ added Cressida.
Everyone said they'd like to come and help with
any more sweeping and cleaning.
‘I'll ask my dad if we can borrow his extra big
broom we sweep the farmyard with. He's really kind
at lending things,’ said Abby enthusiastically.
