He switched off the normal lights and waited a few<br />
moments. It was pitch black in the barn. Sophie,<br />
Cressida, John, mum and dad all waited in silence<br />
wondering what was about to happen. Nobody said<br />
a word. Slowly they noticed a very faint green light<br />
shining eerily onto King Arthur's face. It made him<br />
look real and ghostly at the same time. The light got<br />
stronger. Then it became mixed with red and blue<br />
until the whole stage area was bright with colour.<br />
Then the colours all faded away. It was dark again.<br />
Nobody spoke. Somebody started clapping at the<br />
back of the barn. Uncle Max switched on the normal<br />
lights - or house lights as he called them - and there<br />
was Cressida's mum, Polly.<br />
‘Bravo,’ she said smiling. ‘I can see this is going to<br />
be a real theatre!’<br />
‘I didn’t know you were here,’ said Cressida<br />
pleased but surprised to see her mother.<br />
‘It was getting dark so I came up to walk you home.<br />
