Stage Fright!

‘Sorry. Technical hitch. Just checking on a bit of
wildlife but ready now!’ John called back.
The beetle scurried off.
Sighing John returned to his lighting duties, very
slowly and carefully illuminating the stage with a
green light. He turned the dimmer so gently that at
first you could hardly see anything. Then slowly the
dim outline of Scrooge lying in bed on stage emerged
from the gloom. To Susie's horror a black figure
appeared at the back of the stage.
She screamed!
‘Ssshh Susie!’ said Cressida. ‘It's only Lou dressed
up as the Ghost of Christmas Future.’
‘Thorry! Thorry!’ whispered Susie.
John turned up the green light a little more leaving
the stage dimly lit.
Are you the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come?
asked Scrooge in a terrified voice.
The ghost only lifted its arm and beckoned.
Ghost of the Future!
cried Scrooge.
