STADTNACHT
Eine Suche nach den Quellen der Dunkelheit
Stadträume sind heute auch nachts Lichträume. Straßenlaternen
werfen helle Flecken auf den Asphalt, Firmenschilder verkünden
farbenprächtige Botschaften. Dazwischen jedoch herrscht
dunkler Raum, der, wenn überhaupt, eilig durchquert wird.
Dieser Raum widersetzt sich der Fotografie, die ja Licht-Schreibung
ist, ebenso wie dem Film, und stellt damit Fluch wie Reiz
dar. Was geschieht, wenn man stehen bleibt und die Dunkelheit
betrachtet? Was, wenn das Sichtbare ins Unsichtbare abgleitet?
Wie nehmen wir die Stadt nachts wahr? Und: erfahren wir
etwas, das der Tag vor uns verstecken würde?
Mit Hilfe von Bild- und Tonmedien sollen in diesem Workshop
mit Philipp Czogalla eigene Projekte realisiert werden.
Urban Nights
A search for sources of darkness
Today, even at night urban spaces are also spaces of light.
Street lamps cast bright areas onto the asphalt, signboards
proclaim brightly coloured messages. In between, however, dark
spaces predominate which, if at all, are traversed hastily. This
space defies photography, which of course requires light, and
also film, and therefore acts as both a curse and an attraction.
What happens when you stand still and gaze at the darkness?
What if that which is visible slips into the invisible? How to we
perceive the city at night? And: is there anything to discover that
the day would conceal from us?
Using audiovisual media, participants will be encouraged to realise
their own projects in this workshop with Philipp Czogalla.
