Osman Cerfon
Jinx ist ein Mann mit einem Kopf
wie ein Fisch. Pechblasen entweichen
seinem Maul. Wenn eine davon
jemandem folgt, wird dieser
vom Pech verfolgt sein und ein
schlimmes Ende nehmen.
Jinx is a man with the head of a
fish. Misfortune bubbles escape
from his mouth. When one of them
follows somebody, he becomes
dogged by bad luck, and comes to a
sticky end.
Osman Cerfon first studied Graphic
Design in Chaumont, then Fine Arts
in Epinal, and finally Animation in
›La Poudrière‹ school in Valence,
where he graduated in 2007 with
the film ›Tête-à-tête‹ (Head-tohead).
He has been working on various
projects as a scriptwriter or animation
technician since 2007.

Nina Yuen
Wir werden den im Titel erwähnten David
niemals sehen. Seine Geliebte, gespielt von
Nina Yuen, wird jedoch ständig auf dem Bildschirm
präsent sein. Sie hofft, ihn zurückzugewinnen,
indem sie ihn verzaubert; sie führt
sorgfältig eine Reihe von abergläubischen
Zaubereien durch. Auf einer Strumpfhose
zeichnet sie Unterwäsche mit blauem Glitzer,
die sie am Tag seiner Rückkehr tragen
will. Nach strengem Protokoll dekoriert sie
Äpfel und andere Früchte mit Streuseln und
Süßigkeiten. Aspirintabletten, zu Pulver zermahlen,
werden auf rituelle Art und Weise
auf das Foto ihres Geliebten gestreut, nur
um gleich wieder weggepustet zu werden.
In ›David‹ bilden Liebe, Schönheit und Aberglaube
ein verblüffendes Trio.
We never get to see the David from the title.
However, his lover, played by Nina Yuen, is
constantly on screen. She hopes to win him
back by casting spells on him; she carefully
carries out a series of superstitious enchantments.
On a pair of tights, she draws
underwear with blue glitter, which she will be
wearing on the day he returns. She decorates
apples and other fruit with sprinkles and
candy, according to a strict protocol. Aspirins,
crushed to a powder, are ritually
strewn over her lover’s photo, only to be
blown away again.
In 'David', love, beauty and superstition form

Ein Mann besucht zufällig
wieder seine alte Wohngegend
und findet ein
Graffiti an der Wand seines
früheren Apartments.
Die Handschrift und den
Inhalt betrachtend,
nimmt er an, dass der
Schreiber eine Frau ist
und beginnt, sich etwas
vorzustellen.
A man revisits his old
neighbourhood by chance
and finds graffiti on the
wall of his old apartment.
Looking at the handwriting
and contents, he assumes
the writer to be a
woman and begins to
imagine.
