Une grappe de ces fameuxgamins sans abri qui hantent, si nombreux, les cités brésiliennes.Comment ? “Filme-moi, c’est tout”, “Filme ici !”, et la caméra de passerde main en main, et les filmés de devenir à leur tour cadreurs, preneursson, interviewers. Et le tout de fabriquer des plans qui ne cessent desurgir imprévisibles, de se bousculer, de danser ou de tournoyer commesur ce tourniquet qui donne le vertige aux barres d’immeuble en arrièreplan.Quand ? Tourné initialement sur deux années il y a près de vingtans, Claudia Nunes a repris ce matériau dont elle avait d’abord fait uncourt, Numéro Zéro, puis, après avoir retrouvé et filmé certainsprotagonistes, elle a remonté l’ensemble. Sans souci de chronologie,mais reflétant ce présent permanent dans lequel tous ces visages et leursparoles semblent habiter, de cette mosaïque éclatée émerge un portraitcollectif, une trajectoire épique où chacun, héros, a sa part. Reste decette expérience de cinéma direct les témoignages d’enfances mutilées.Exemples parmi d’autres, telle expulsion musclée, telle séance de sniffde colle, ou les obsèques de l’un d’entre eux. Archive d’une jeunessefilmée sans dramatisation, sans pittoresque ni misérabilisme, dans unfilm au noir et blanc qui s’offre comme un hommage à la vitalité et àl’énergie. (JPR)Where? And everything made with shotsthat never stop surprising, jostling each other, dancing or whirling around like thisrevolving door that makes dizzy the apartment bars in the background. When? Shotinitially over a period of two years twenty years ago, Claudia Nunes has revisitedthis material from which she first made a short, Numéro Zéro; then after having foundand re-filmed some of the characters, she edited everything together. Withoutthought for the chronology, but reflecting this permanent present where all thesefaces and their words seem to live; from this fragmented mosaic emerges acollective portrait, an epic trajectory where each, a hero, has his part. The remainsof this experience of direct cinema: the testimony of crippled childhoods. Examplesamong others: a brutal eviction, a session of glue sniffing or the funeral of one ofthem. Archive of a youth filmed without dramatization, without either cuteness ormiserabilism, in a film in black and white that presents itself as homage to vitalityand energy.
