Your Holiness Metropolitan Bishop of Austria, honorable and exarch of Hungary and the Central
Europe, by the Holly Spirit beloved brother and concelebrant of our Humbleness mister Michael, may your
Holiness by blessed and receive peace by God.
With much gratitude and pride to the Lord, following the constitutional change, we have been closely
attending to the re-operation of the Hungarian Exarchate of our Ecumenical Patriarchate, aiming at the
commitment of the Congregation of the Mother Church as well as the continuation of the long lasting, glorious
and exceptional tradition of the local Greeks and it was with great satisfaction that we were informed about the
organization of an Exhibition occurring in the Hungarian Museum of History, located in Budapest entitled "
Greek Heritage. The Greek Orthodox Diaspora in Hungary during the 17th and until the 19th century " held by
both the " By the Greeks established Orthodox Hungarian Church Community of Budapest " the participation of
the Hungarian, Greek and the colonial sectors, with the intention to bring to prominence the religious, artistic and
literary monuments of the Greek Orthodox people and present the long ranged existence of the Greek Orthodox
community in Hungary through the establishment of Church communities by the Greeks, prior to all being the
well-reputed and historical one that is located in Budapest, the magnificent Holly Temple which, amongst others,
is still deprived, due to reasons of injustice and impropriety, of the connection with the bossom of the Mother of
the Greeks and the Hungarian Orthodox Holly Great Church of Christ, which is in Constantinople.
It is to everyone's knowledge that, the Greek Communities in Hungary, primarily this Holly Temple and
the surrounding school and other charitable institutions members to which are eminent representatives of the
Colonial Community, as well as the Families of the National Benefactors such as Sinas, Charissis, Nakou,
Douba, also intellectuals such as Georgios Zaviras, the people who founded the relationship between Hungary
and the Orthodox East since the Byzantine era, enriched with their status and actions the contemporary history of
our devout Nation and it was due to their belief in God, their grand morale and their sheer devotion to our
institutions and traditions, that we have preserved and are now in existence.
Thereafter, we congratulate your highly acknowledged Holiness, the hosts and everyone involved in the
organization of the Exhibition, which enhances the cultural history of the contemporary suffering Greeks in
Hungary and we gladly accept the invitation, place it under the auspices of our Humbleness and wholesomely
wish this cultural event to accomplish great success and to the visitors to enrich their spirit and receive the Grace
of the Lord who provides all commodities.
