Para a safra 03/04, tem-se como certo umaumento substancial da produção, especialmenteno Brasil e na Argentina.Nosso país alcançou produção recorde, emtorno de 13 milhões de toneladas; o vizinhoplatino deve crescer 39%, alcançando ummilhão de toneladas.Brasil: produção recordee conjuntura favorávelmantêm preços elevadosTodo esse volume de produção, agregado a360 mil toneladas estocadas e a quase 760mil toneladas importadas, conformou umquadro de suprimento interno 10% superiorao consumo nacional, foi calculado em12,6 milhões de toneladas (Tabela 9).A safra 03/04 ultrapassou a que lhe antecedeuem 25% e a de 1999, em 10%.Com isso, reverteu a tendência de quedaprogressiva da produção nacional, imperantepelo menos nos últimos seis anos (Tabela10).
