the wooden windows or other materials that may lead to deformation of, and change to,
the traditional architectural style of the historical city;
4- Malicious destruction or demolition of landmarks, facilities and buildings in historical
sites and cities;
5- Demolition, change or erasure of any inscriptions or decoration on historical buildings;
6- Erection of new structures appended to a historical building or landmark;
7- Undertaking any construction works in the campus of historical cities, landmarks and
sites;
8- Building in public areas, opens spaces or green areas (such as gardens and farms);
uprooting trees or using any of the above areas as solid waste dumping sites, regardless
of who owns or acquires them;
9- Carrying out any alterations or changes to the features of buildings and landmarks in
historical cities, detaching any part of them or sticking posters and advertisements on
their facades.
10- Creation of commercial or non-commercial openings in the residential areas of
historical cities;
11- Changing the function of a historical building or part thereof without obtaining a written
consent from GOPHC;
12- Deforming or covering bricks with deforming colors , such as paint …etc.
Chapter (4)
Penalties
Article 6): Without prejudice to any severer penalty provided for under the effective Laws,
whosoever violates the provisions of this Regulation shall be penalized with the following fines:
1- Financial fine not exceeding YR10.000, together with removal of the object of
violation, whosoever violates the provision of paragraph (a) of Article (3) of this
Regulation;
2- Financial fine of YR10.000, together with removal of the object of violation and
restoring the situation to the state in which it was before committing the violation,
whosoever violates any provision of those indicated under Article (5) of this
Regulation;
Chapter (5)
Final Provisions
Article 7): The bank guarantee indicated under item 3-b of this regulation shall be returned to its
owner after confirming his adherence to the construction and repair controls and soundness of
execution of work.
