CSAbA 2 Affiliations 1 Dept of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Semmelweis University, Budapest, HUNGARY, 2 Dept of Oral Radiology, Faculty of Dentistry, Semmelweis University, Budapest, HUNGARY Body Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the usefulness of using CBCT and queries to predict the clinical manifestation of bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaws (BRONJ) after dentoalveolar surgical intervention on bisphosphonate treated patients. Methods: 17 patients were selected to fill out form and tooth removal. OPT and CBCT was taken and analyzed and wound healing was observed. Results: indexes drawn from form and radiographic measurements were compared to wound healing Conclusion: Though query or radiographic measurements can show coincidence with clinical osteonecrosis they show a higher specificity when using paralell results. WARFVINGE 3 Affiliations 1 University hospital - Department of Radiology, Linköping, SWEDEN, 2 Center for Medical image Sience and Visualization (CMIV), Linköping, SWEDEN, 3 Faculty of Odontology - Department of Pathology, Malmö, SWEDEN Body Objectives: Clear cell odontogenic carcinoma is a rare and locally aggressive malignancy first described by Hansen et al in 1985. The tumour is known to recur and having capacity to metastasize to distant sites, most frequently the lungs. Some articles describe perineural tumour spread. According to the literature the lesion has a peak incidence in the 5-7th decades with the anterior part of the mandible most frequently affected. Methods: We describe a case where the tumour occurred in a 8 year old girl, presenting with right facial mild pain and swelling. Panoramic radiograph showed inferiorly displaced right lower second premolar. The lesion was first diagnosed as an ameloblastoma and then showed multiple recurrences. Five years later, a recurrence displaying an altered histological pattern was diagnosed as a clear-cell odontogenic tumour. Imaging with multi slice computed tomography (MSCT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) were made before the resection of the right mandible body. The resection margins were at histopathological examination considered tumour-free. An iliac crest tranplant was performed and tooth implants were installed. At the age of 15, multiple lung metastasis were discovered and the patient underwent chemoteraphy treatment. Result: Seven years after the mandible resection, at a clinical check up, the now 20 year old female felt a facial swelling on the right side. MSCT and MRI show destruction of the mandible ramus and a soft tissue mass infitrating the masticator muscles. Conclusion: The centre of the lesion is located at the mandible foramen suggesting the possibility of perineural tumour spread.
