Body
Objectives: The aim of this study was to determine the usefulness of using CBCT and queries to
predict the clinical manifestation of bisphosphonate related osteonecrosis of the jaws (BRONJ)
after dentoalveolar surgical intervention on bisphosphonate treated patients.
Methods: 17 patients were selected to fill out form and tooth removal. OPT and CBCT was taken
and analyzed and wound healing was observed.
Results: indexes drawn from form and radiographic measurements were compared to wound
healing
Conclusion: Though query or radiographic measurements can show coincidence with clinical
osteonecrosis they show a higher specificity when using paralell results. The method can be
useful in everyday clinical practice to separate high risk patients where BRONJ has a high
probability to occur.
