Body
Objectives: To review the radiographic features of pathoses originated from a dental inflammation
and causing mucosal and/or bony findings in the neighbourhood of teeth.
Methods: The anterograde and retrograde follow-up of above mentioned cases has been
investigated in this study. The cases of dental pathoses were assessed with various imaging
modalities (intraoral and panoramic radiographs, conventional and Cone-Beam CT) would be
presented.
Conclusions: Especially because the mucositis and/or “halo-formation” are pathognomic, their
disappearances are the signs of healing. The recent introduction of CBCT has been contributed
considerably to a better understanding and interpreting of these kind of lesions. The air-filled
periapical appearance is a unique one in the maxillary sinus. Probably the lesions at the other
parts of the maxilla (and the mandible, too) would be the same pathoses but without this
special appearance possibility in the „air”?
