Genetically affinity and ß –ODAP contents of Turkish grass pea populations<br />

In 12 provinces grass pea has been cultivated for a long time in Turkey. Throughout these<br />

provinces 52 grass pea farmer population seeds were collected from 52 different districts. T<strong>here</strong><br />

is only 1 released grass pea cultivar in Turkey, but t<strong>here</strong> hasn’t been commercial seed sale of this<br />

variety. 52 farmer populations and 1 released cultivar were grown according to randomized block<br />

design with 3 replications at experimental area of Ondokuz Mayis University, Agricultural<br />

Faculty. Beside the agronomic and chemical measurements and observations, genetically affinity<br />

levels among and inside the genotypes were determined by ISSR method. The data obtained from<br />

genetically analysis were processed by using NTSYSpc (Numerical Taxonomy and Multivariate<br />

Analysis System) and a dendrogram has been generated. Similarity coefficients among the<br />

genotypes ranged from 0.43 to 0.82. As similarity coefficients between some genotypes collected<br />

from adjacent provinces were higher than 0.80 showed us, some farmers has been exchanged<br />

grass pea seeds. ß –ODAP analysis was done in grass pea seed also, by using<br />

capillaryelectrophoresis. ß –ODAP proportion of the genotypes was determined between 1.12<br />

and 9.96 mg g -1 .<br />
