Instruction to the Facilitator<br />
1. Post AGREE, DISAGREE and UNDECIDED posters<br />
on the wall. Depending on the literacy level of the<br />
participants, 3 different colours can be used to<br />
represent these.<br />
2. Read the statements in box 2.4.14 one at a time and<br />
let them decide where they belong. Let them take a<br />
decision on which of the three responses confirms their<br />
decision.<br />
3. Let each participant stand in front of the poster that<br />
corresponds to the decision he has taken for each<br />
statement.<br />
4. Ask a few people in each group the reasons for their<br />
choice.<br />
5. Lead the group in the discussion using the questions in<br />
the exercise sheet.<br />
a. Were you surprised by the responses of your peers?<br />
b. How did you feel when you disagreed with other<br />
participants?<br />
c. How did you feel when others disagreed with you?<br />
d. What can happen if you disagree with the<br />
community’s values or try to impose your values on<br />
community members?<br />
6. Let participant explain why there are differences in such<br />
opinion in such a homogeneous group with common<br />
characteristics (job functions, education, etc.) using the<br />
issue of values systems.<br />
