4. Choose any essential health issue. (Refer to<br />

the ‘<strong>Community</strong> <strong>Health</strong> Issues’ in Module1<br />

Unit 2 Topic 1 Box 1.2.2 for this exercise)<br />

5. Prepare one group of participants to role-play<br />

demonstrating<br />

• poor communication<br />

• effective communication<br />

6. Let participants observe and process the<br />

role-play using the ‘SHOWED’ Approach.<br />

Auntie Ama and her husband<br />

Auntie Ama has informed you that recently, there have been a lot of quarrels between<br />

her and her husband. The issue is that she has been turning down her husband’s sexual<br />

advances for fear of becoming pregnant. They have five children, the fifth one is six<br />

months old. She comes to you upset, seeking your advice and support.<br />
