About <strong>the</strong> results of medical schools, a slight increase in almost all ECE countries. In<br />

Poland <strong>the</strong> increase of <strong>the</strong> number of graduates has started since 2005. This delay appears<br />

because of <strong>the</strong> duration of <strong>the</strong> educational program of six years in medicine. An unusual<br />

evolution of <strong>the</strong> number of medical school graduates appears in Romania where <strong>the</strong><br />

number of graduates increases significantly in 2003 and <strong>the</strong>n decreases slightly for <strong>the</strong><br />

next three years. One explanation could be <strong>the</strong> high number of students who started a<br />

private school of medicine and <strong>the</strong>n abandoned it by joining a public financed one.<br />

As shown before, a very high variation appears between ECE countries in <strong>the</strong> evolutions<br />

of <strong>the</strong> number of students enrolled in medical schools and of <strong>the</strong> number of graduates.<br />

Therefore, we have decided to estimate for each country a production function of<br />

education in Health. Because in some cases <strong>the</strong> evolution is not stable during <strong>the</strong> entire<br />

period of time we have chosen a shorter period of observation in order to estimate <strong>the</strong><br />

regression coefficients. Most of <strong>the</strong> models could be validated with a probability of 99%.<br />

In Bulgaria, Estonia and Slovenia <strong>the</strong> models could be validated with 90%. But in<br />

Romanian case, <strong>the</strong> model could not be validated because of <strong>the</strong> very few cases which<br />
