Asides from <strong>the</strong> pull factors, push factors play a considerable role into favoring <strong>the</strong><br />

migration of health care takes to better skies. Stilwell et al., (2004) and Robinson et al.<br />

(2008), and Berliner and Ginzberg (2003), for example, state that <strong>the</strong> shortage of supply<br />

of health professionals in destination countries is <strong>the</strong> major reason for <strong>the</strong> high<br />

immigration of health workers. Aside from higher wages and better working conditions,<br />

<strong>the</strong> assurance that a health professional will find a job in <strong>the</strong> destination country is a<br />

major incentive to migrate. Most of <strong>the</strong> destination countries, as shown in table III.1.9,<br />

are USA, UK and Western Europe.<br />
