Autoreset when patient<br />

triggers 2 consecutive breaths.<br />

CONTINUOUS<br />

HI PRES<br />

High-priority alarm.<br />

HIGH PRESSURE alarm is active<br />

but circuit pressure has not<br />

dropped below HIGH PRESSURE<br />

setting.<br />

Alarm does not autoreset. The<br />

ventilator enters occlusion<br />

cycling mode.<br />

DISCONNECT High-priority alarm.<br />

Measured exhaled tidal volume<br />

is 15% or less <strong>of</strong> delivered tidal<br />

volume for 4 consecutive<br />

breaths.<br />

Autoreset when exhaled tidal<br />

volume is greater than 15% <strong>of</strong><br />

the delivered tidal volume for<br />

one breath.<br />

The DISCONNECT alarm is<br />

turned <strong>of</strong>f when the speaking<br />

valve option is active (see<br />

Chapter 6 for more<br />

information).<br />

Alarm handling<br />

Check patient.<br />

Consider switching<br />

from SPONT mode.<br />

Check patient; provide<br />

alternate ventilation.<br />

Check for blockage at<br />

EXHAUST port.<br />

Remove ventilator from<br />

use and contact service.<br />

Check patient.<br />

Check ventilator<br />

breathing circuit<br />

connections.<br />

Press the alarm reset<br />

key.<br />
