CE Mark that indicates compliance with the Medical<br />

clinical alarm An alarm triggered by a ventilator setting or patient<br />

condition, can occur in the usual course <strong>of</strong> patient care.<br />

PRESSURE<br />

The flow at the patient wye at the end <strong>of</strong> the inspiratory<br />

phase. On the 760 Ventilator only, the end inspiratory<br />

flow is displayed in the message window at the end <strong>of</strong><br />

each PCV or PSV breath, and can be used to assess the<br />

EXH SENSITIVITY setting.<br />

End inspiratory pressure, patient data displayed on the<br />

760 Ventilator only. The pressure measured at the end<br />

<strong>of</strong> inspiration, excluding any plateau.<br />

EST Extended self-test, a comprehensive test <strong>of</strong> ventilator<br />

function, intended to be run by a qualified service<br />

technician.<br />

ETO Ethylene oxide.<br />

EXP PAUSE Expiratory pause, available on the 760 Ventilator only.<br />

Closes the exhalation valve at the end <strong>of</strong> the expiratory<br />

phase while the EXP PAUSE key is pressed, used to<br />

calculate patient’s auto-PEEP.<br />

Exhalation sensitivity, a ventilator setting that determines<br />

the flow (in L/min) at which the ventilator cycles from<br />

inspiration to exhalation for PSV breaths, available on the<br />

760 Ventilator only.<br />

Fractional inspired oxygen, <strong>of</strong>ten expressed as % O 2 .<br />
