• Inadvertent extubation in which the endotracheal tube<br />

remains connected to the breathing circuit could result in<br />

pressurization above the LOW INSP PRESSURE alarm setting.<br />

The LOW INSP PRESSURE and low volume alarms should be<br />

set appropriately.<br />

• To ensure patient safety, always set the LOW TIDAL<br />

VOLUME and HIGH RATE alarms.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The O 2 % alarm limits are based on the set % O 2 . The high<br />

O 2 % alarm limit is 10 percentage points above the set % O 2 ,<br />

and the low O 2 % alarm limit is 10 percentage points below<br />

the set % O 2 . The measured % O 2 is shown in the message<br />

window if its display is enabled (using the Oxygen sensor<br />

menu function, described in Chapter 6).<br />

3.4 Entering and exiting standby mode<br />
