Two consecutive breaths were<br />

truncated because circuit<br />

pressure reached the HIGH<br />

PRESSURE setting. (Inspiration<br />

phase ends and exhalation<br />

valve opens to prevent<br />

excessive pressure.)<br />

Autoreset when circuit pressure<br />

is less than alarm setting for<br />

5 breaths. Cannot be silenced if<br />

alarm condition persists.<br />

Medium-priority alarm.<br />

Delivered tidal volume less than<br />

LOW TIDAL VOLUME setting for 3<br />

out <strong>of</strong> 4 consecutive breaths. If<br />

LOW TIDAL VOLUME ALARM<br />

setting = 0 and breath type is<br />

PCV, this alarm indicates that<br />

delivered tidal volume is less than<br />

3 ml for 3 out <strong>of</strong> 4 consecutive<br />

breaths.<br />

Autoreset when delivered value<br />

is at least equal to alarm setting<br />

for 3 out <strong>of</strong> 4 consecutive<br />

breaths.<br />

Check patient.<br />

Check for water in the<br />

inspiratory limb or<br />

kinked tubing.<br />

Consider appropriate<br />

ventilator settings.<br />

for blocked or kinked<br />

ET tube (PCV and PSV<br />

breath types when<br />
