measurement and<br />

consider recalibrating<br />

the sensor (using the<br />

Oxygen sensor menu<br />

function, as described<br />

in Chapter 6).<br />

If indicated by your<br />

institution’s protocol,<br />

disable the O 2 % alarm<br />

limits (using the<br />

Oxygen sensor menu<br />

function).<br />

Warning<br />

<strong>Covidien</strong> recommends that the O2 alarm limits be<br />

enabled at all times, unless the oxygen sensor is<br />

faulty or missing. Replace a faulty or missing oxygen<br />

sensor as soon as possible.<br />

Check patient; check<br />

oxygen supply; provide<br />

alternate ventilation.<br />

Remove ventilator from<br />

use and contact service<br />

(consider replacing<br />

oxygen sensor).<br />
