3. Press CLEAR to cancel the most recently changed setting and<br />

return to the last valid setting. (This only works if you haven’t<br />

pressed ACCEPT yet.) Pressing CLEAR after you’ve pressed<br />

100% O2 stops the 100% O2 maneuver. The ventilator will beep<br />

if you attempt to change a setting to a value above or below<br />

the setting range.<br />

4. PEEP/CPAP, TRIGGER SENSITIVITY, and % O2 : You<br />

can change these settings in any mode. These keys<br />

don’t flash when you select a new mode, and you<br />

are not required to confirm these settings.<br />

NOTE:<br />

The O 2 % alarm is delayed for 30 seconds and 12 L <strong>of</strong> tidal<br />

volume following a change in setting so that the oxygen<br />

concentration can stabilize.<br />

NOTE:<br />

If apnea ventilation is possible, the ventilator displays this<br />

message when normal ventilation begins:<br />

Review Ta = xx s<br />

where Ta is the apnea interval and xx is the current setting in<br />

seconds (from 10 to 60 s). Chapter 5 tells you how to adjust<br />

apnea ventilation parameters. You are not required to review<br />

apnea parameters before normal ventilation begins.<br />
