The concept of the ideal human relationship evolves when it is inspired
by love and based upon truth. Truth and love form the foundation of
this kind of friendship. This connection is divinised with the sincere
mingling of the hearts. Friendship based on altruism adopts the motto:
love for all and malice towards none, keeping in view the well being of
others overlooking personal interests. Such an attitude makes life enjoyable
and also helps to set right the world. Such aptitudes makes
people voluntarily give more and receive less, whereas if egoism
creeps in you, then you like to receive more and give less. The difference
in attitudes of egoists and altruists spells out the contradiction between
the concept of ideal friendship and the actual manner in which
it is interpreted in every day life. (35-258)
The country is not made up of dust. It is a conglomeration of human
beings. It is the human beings that give it the name of a country. If there
were no human beings, it would not be a country. A country is very
much like a human body. The Divine strength of the country is the human
nature in the body. If there is no Divine strength in the human
body, what is the use of it? A body devoid of Divine strength is equivalent
to dust. Today, you see only the human form but human nature
and human qualities are extinct in this human form. The qualities which
are precious and which characterise the human being are morality, adherence
to truth and righteousness etc. and if these are missing then
human nature does not shine at all. You should promote human quality
and human nature. You should not cultivate simply the human form
and appearance. These two are like the negative and the positive. If
the unity and the oneness of these two aspects is not properly brought
about, then both of them are useless. Enshrine Divinity in your heart
and make it sacred. Then you can use the human form in a manner in
which you choose. (36-5/6)
In the world today there are several kinds of powers which you see;
worldly power, rnaterial power and the power connected with politics.
But of all types of powers, the most powerful one is political strength,
by ruling a country. In that context, one is apt to think that Divine or
spiritual strength are not good enough. Students, for us to think that
political power, is even stronger than Divine or spiritual strength are
not correct. You should have the attitude that all these worldly types
of powers are derived from Divine strength. Political powers can cause
changes only to one's body. But spiritual and Divine powers can trans-
