intelligence, you can control death and regard it as part of the evolution
of the immortal element in you. You have come into this world with your
body as a part of yourselves. So long as you remain a part of this world,
it is the duty of young people to enquire and understand the truth behind
all this. What is this body and what is its relationship to the world?
It is the determination of Sai to sow the seeds of desire for acquiring
spiritual knowledge in young people, whose minds are like the rays of
the rising sun. Your age is the appropriate age at which you can hope
to become the future pillars of this country. It is no use preaching such
things to elderly people whose minds are like the rays of the evening
sun. (...)
You will have to dedicate your life to the future of this country. Your life
will be peaceful only when you control the excitement of the body and
the mind, which is harmful. If you are not able to control the excitement
of your body and mind while you are young, you will not be able to do
so when you grow older. When you are young, you have the strength
of body, mind and spirit. True education teaches you to control your
sense organs, set your ideas on the right path and keep your mind
clean. One notices lightning in the sky only when clouds gather. In that
manner, as lightning follows clouds, wisdom must follow education.
One who seeks such wisdom is a true seeker. You must forget the foolish
idea that education is only for acquiring a degree. Do not seek education
for the sake of serving some one else. Have in your mind as
the object of your education, the prosperity and good of yourself, your
country and your society. Make an effort to sacrifice your life. Do not
sell your education to earn a pittance of a salary. (35-12/15)
Many years ago, in this country when righteousness and all that was
dependent upon righteousness was on the decline, Shankara appeared
on the scene and propagated the ancient and Veda teaching
in the form of advaita or non-dual philosophy. (35-19/20)
Scientists can only study and describe the qualities of existing materials;
they can divide them into components, reconstitute them into new
compounds and reshape them according to processes which they can
explain. No scientist can create things which do not exist. (...)
Occasionally, scientists may put together a few elemental substances
and create artificially small quantities of new materials but are they
able to create life, giving substances like oxygen, air and water for sustaining
life on earth? It is not possible for any one. It can be created
