The petty investigation done by ordinary reason, not fed by wisdom,
can help on to perceive only nothingness. When such persons deliver
lectures condemning Avatars, and you happen to be present and listening,
ask the speaker, “Venerable sir! Have you understood the
meaning of the words omnilocation, omnipotence and omnipresence?”
Man is confined to the objective nature which he contacts
through his senses. So he is helpless in understanding these ideas.
The speaker does not know about these concepts, any more than the
common unlettered man. Though they are ignorant of these vast horizons
of thought, speakers of this type create confusion and distress
through their teachings.
Spiritual education is, in reality, experience of the truth, awareness of
the truth. Pleasing oratory should not be mistaken as experiencing the
truth. That experience comes about only in the innermost tabernacle
of the self.
As at present created, man is by nature encased and so he can see
God only as man. There is no escape. (...) So too, man imagines the
Divine principle as a cosmic man with human limbs and human qualities.

When you think of service, you seem to think of work which is a lowly
kind of work, usually done by a servant. This kind of association of ideas,
where service is thought of as something lowly, is not correct. In
the context of service, you should realize that God himself does a lot
of service to the world in many ways. You are familiar with the concept
of an Avatar when God takes birth in human form to reestablish righteousness
in its high place thus doing service to the world. 1973, (35-

It is only when God comes amidst men as an Avatar, that he will be
close to man, and will be able to set an example to human beings. Only
then, he will be able to correct the ways of human beings. The real connection
that should exist between man and man is always demonstrated
by an Avatar. Because God comes as an Avatar in human form,
man is able to see and experience some ideal examples, in real life situations.
It is natural in that context that God takes human form and creates
situations where man learns the virtue of adherence to spiritual

Every act of on Avatar has to be taken into consideration in the context
of the situation and the time and the happenings at the time in which
the Avatar lives. (...)
