DAY 14
Mixed Vegetables II

Ingredient Metric Standard Measure Method
Carrot 240 g 8 oz 2 medium 1. Scrub and wash carrot and turnip under running water.
Turnip 60 g 2 oz 1 small 2. Peel carrot and turnip.
3. Cut carrots and turnips into small (½ cm) cubes.
String Beans 120 g 4 oz 12 each 4. Wash string beans.
5. Cut off bottom and top of string beans.
6. Cut string beans in small (1 cm) pieces.
Water 120 ml 4 oz ½ cup 7. Put water and salt to boil in sauce pan over medium heat.
Salt 2 g - ½ tsp 8. Place carrots and turnip in pot and reduce to medium low heat.
9. Cover sauce pan tightly.
10. Cook for approximately 2 minutes.
11. Add strings beans and stir once.
12. Uncover pot and cook for another 2 - 3 minutes.
13. Reduce heat to low, and cook for 5 minutes.
14. Remove from heat.
15. Drain off any excess water.
16. Put vegetables in a bowl.
