main agricultural products used in Brazil are: maize, soybean,
rice, sugarcane and coffee and the total harvested area has
Brazilian grain has increased in production, regardless of
each product’s peculiarities, specially in grain cultivation.
As far as maize is concerned, production has grown to 43.5%
29.4%, and held in 1995/96 almost the same area harvested
in 1985. For rice, an internal market product, although
produced quantity has suffered a decline of approximately
10%, the harvested area has lowered to two thirds of that
seen in 1985.
