E. Dependencies<br />

The following dependencies need to be install prior Q<strong>GIS</strong> installation. The order given here should<br />

be used, because some programs depend on each other. Basically this order is needed:<br />

• PROJ.4<br />

• GEOS<br />

• PostgreSQL<br />

• Post<strong>GIS</strong><br />

• SQLite3<br />

• GDAL/OGR<br />

• GRASS<br />

• GDAL-GRASS<br />

• QT4<br />

• Q<strong>GIS</strong><br />

Optionaly you need python in order to get the new UMN MapServer exporter compiled.<br />

E.1. Proj.4<br />

Proj.4 provides the functions needed for on-the-fly projection of map layers starting from Q<strong>GIS</strong> 0.74.<br />

To build and install Proj4, download the latest version from http://proj.maptools.org, untar the<br />

distribution and:<br />

./configure<br />

make<br />

make install<br />
